Client Overview
The Heart Center for Excellence is the largest independent cardiology practice in Southwest Michigan. Providing heart care at a higher standard, the interiors of the building needed to reflect its progressive medical technology, equipment and medications.  SKP Design was engaged to update the existing conditions by creating an innovative yet inviting welcome kiosk and lobby and to update the finishes in the clinical areas.

Design Program
The design intent was to reflect the Heart Center’s mission of quality by using a modern design scheme and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A new reception desk was designed to create more privacy for patients when checking in. This was constructed with glass partitions so that the stations were visibly welcoming yet created an enclosed sense of privacy.  Various flooring finishes were used to develop way finding and enhance durability. Accent walls throughout the space created strong visual impact while also helping with directional way finding. New furniture with modern and organic design motifs was selected to reflect the overall image of the space.
